What is the minimum amount of Mahr to be given and what is the maximum limit? What amount is the best for Mahr?

Answer

The minimum

of Mahr should account to 31gm of silver to be given on the day of Nikah. There is no limit to maximum amount given. However, it is better not to give a huge amount. The best amount for Mahr is Mahare Fatima, which amounts to 1 kilo 531 gm of silver to be given on the day of Nikah.

(It is found that huge amount is spent on wedding which is not required and many people are not ready to give Mahr amount of Mahare Fatima)
