AQEEDA OF EXISTENCE OF ALLAH ON ARSH
Today’s Question no. 1617
What is the take of ahle sunnat dewbandi ulamaa regarding the existence of Allah swt on heavens (arsh) hands, and other features?
Answer
On such an aayat, our religion require us to have faith and not argue and it is known that Allah swt is not in any way similar to a human (sitting, standing, moving etc).
It means that he is sitting on his throne is true, but questions about how is he sitting, and to sit, body is needed etc we don’t have been given knowledge and hence shouldn’t be argued.
He can sit howsoever he can be. This is the opinion of mutaqaddimeen (6th century ulamaa) and our mutakhireen have explained it in saheeh lugat which explains that sitting means the existence of Allah swt and his hand means to ask for help, face means his position.
One should not associate Allah swt with directions, home, standing etc since Allah swt is pure of such things which comes to an end.
